You want to play the mandolin and the Vancouver Public Library has just what you need. Head over to the magnificent Central Branch (it’s a neoclassical echo of Rome’s Colosseum, with fewer gladiators and more books) where you can borrow musical instruments from their collection. If your mandolin playing is going well, ask a friend to borrow a Cajon and start a band. Don’t know what a Cajon is? I didn’t either, but Alejandro Caspedes will teach you how to take care of one while it’s in your care.
